(11:39 a.m. EDT) — MSC Cruises' newest ship, MSC World Asia, has completed its final sea trials ahead of its delivery on November 25, 2026.
Following an initial round of sea trials in July, the ship completed its last round of testing in the Atlantic Ocean, off the west coast of France. Crews successfully tested the ship's engines, maneuverability, fuel efficiency, safety systems, speed and stopping distances.
MSC World Asia will now receive its finishing touches at Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, before it's delivered to MSC Cruises.
The vessel will be officially named on November 28 in Le Havre, France, during a ceremony attended by travel industry executives, media, partners and guests.
MSC World Asia will embark on its inaugural seven-night voyage on December 4, departing from Barcelona. It will then sail seven-night Mediterranean itineraries, with destinations including Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia (Rome), Messina and Valletta.
Onboard, guests will find over 40 bars, lounges and restaurants, including five brand-new venues: Clubhouse and Soda Bar, Sky Box Bar, Terraces Bar & Lounge, Coral Cove Bar and Pan Asian Bar.
