MSC Group's cruise division held a groundbreaking ceremony for Sandy Cay, the new private island destination in The Bahamas that will be used as a luxury experience by MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys.
Pierfrancesco Vago, executive chairman of the MSC Group's cruise division and Bahamas Prime Minister Philip Davis were joined by other company and government officials and project stakeholders.
Sandy Cay is located adjacent to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve and meant to complement that destination by offering a distinct, intimate and elevated immersive experience. It will focus on wellness, relaxation and the natural surroundings, offering beaches lapped by crystal-clear waters.
Dining, private retreats and attentive hospitality are promised.
Meanwhile, upgrades coming to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve will include additional dining venues, new beach concepts for families and adults, expanded relaxation areas and experiences to engage visitors more deeply with marine conservation.
