Scenic Group revealed plans to have two river ships sailing in India by 2029-30.
The company has partnered with Assam Bengal Navigation (ABN), marking its expansion into the Brahmaputra River.
The move follows the earlier announcement of Scenic Aura's debut in India in 2027 with itineraries in the Hooghly River and land journeys across North India, South India, Rajasthan and Sri Lanka.
The Brahmaputra River offerings will complement Scenic's inaugural 2027-28 Hooghly River program in West Bengal.
The partnership was confirmed following a recent meeting in Delhi attended by Scenic Group Founder and Chairman Glen Moroney, Founder and Managing Director of ABN Ashish Phookan and Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Shri Sarbananda Sonowal.
"India offers extraordinary potential for luxury river cruising," said Moroney. "Our partnership with Assam Bengal Navigation gives us the benefit of deep local expertise and an established operating platform, while allowing Scenic to bring its international experience in luxury cruising to the market. Scenic Aura is the first step in what we expect will be a long-term commitment to India."
The expansion will combine ABN's decades of experience in operating cruises on the Brahmaputra and Ganges with Scenic Group's expertise in ultra-luxury cruising.

"This partnership brings together our operating experience and knowledge of India's rivers with Scenic's global luxury cruise expertise, brand and international distribution. We believe it can significantly expand India's position on the global river-cruise map."
