MIAMI – September 21, 2026 – Silversea, the leading experiential luxury and expedition travel brand, has embarked on its Grand Voyage Mediterranean 2026 – a 50-day journey aboard Silver Spirit connecting Lisbon to Athens (Piraeus). Sailing through November 7, the voyage spans 40 destinations, 12 countries, and 48 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, pairing iconic calls such as Istanbul, Dubrovnik, Casablanca, and Barcelona with lesser-traveled stops including Volos, Gythion, Kotor, and Amalfi. The itinerary includes overnight stays in Malaga, Livorno, and Istanbul, giving guests extended time ashore in three of the region's most storied ports.

FROM LISBON TO ATHENS: A PASSAGE THROUGH THE MEDITERRANEAN
Guests sailing on this Grand Voyage aboard Silver Spirit will experience many of the Mediterranean's distinct cultures and coastlines within a single, continuous journey. The voyage moves through the full breadth of the region's character – from Portugal's Atlantic edge and Morocco's Maghreb coast, through France, Italy, and Croatia's Dalmatian shoreline, to Greece and Turkey's Bosphorus, with immersive experiences woven into each stop along the way:
LISBON TO BARCELONA: The voyage opens along the Atlantic and Iberian coastlines – Lisbon, Casablanca and Tangier, Morocco – before rounding the Strait of Gibraltar for Cádiz and an overnight stay in Malaga, concluding with Valencia and Barcelona. There, guests will have the chance to join a tapas-making class and sherry tasting inside a 19th-century mansion in Jerez, or share a homemade five-course meal, along with churros and olive oil tastings, at a family's countryside home in Malaga.
BARCELONA TO CIVITAVECCHIA (ROME): From Barcelona, the ship threads through the Western Mediterranean and French Riviera – Palamós and Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Sète and Marseille, France; Monte Carlo, Monaco – before an overnight stay in Livorno and a call at Porto Santo Stefano, concluding in Civitavecchia (Rome). Along the way, guests can cruise the Thau Lagoon to its oyster and mussel farms for a hands-on cooking class in Sète, or visit the Antinori family's "Le Mortelle" estate in Porto Santo Stefano, whose winemaking lineage dates to 1385.
CIVITAVECCHIA (ROME) TO FUSINA (VENICE): The voyage continues south along Italy's coast, through Naples and Amalfi, and on to Giardini Naxos (Taormina), Sicily and Valletta, Malta; before crossing the Adriatic for Kotor, Montenegro; and Split, Zadar and Rovinj, Croatia, concluding in Fusina (Venice). There, guests can visit the Marisa Cuomo winery in Amalfi, its cellar hand-carved into the cliffs above Furore, or join a S.A.L.T. Experience on the slopes of Mount Etna with wine judge and winemaker Benjamin Spencer in Taormina.
FUSINA (VENICE) TO ATHENS (PIRAEUS): From Venice, the ship traces the Adriatic and Ionian – Koper, Slovenia; Rijeka and Dubrovnik, Croatia; Bari, Italy – before reaching Corfu, Katakolon (Olympia), Gythion and Souda Bay (Crete), Greece, concluding in Athens (Piraeus). Guests can explore Predjama Castle, built into a cliffside cave system, followed by a Michelin Green Star lunch in Koper, or join a traditional peka-style feast at a family estate in the Konavle countryside near Dubrovnik.
ATHENS (PIRAEUS) TO ATHENS (PIRAEUS): The voyage's final leg spans the Aegean – Mykonos, Volos and Thessaloniki, Greece – before an overnight stay in Istanbul, Turkey, and calls at Rhodes and Santorini, Greece, concluding back in Athens. Guests can join a private cellar tasting of volcanic Assyrtiko at Anhydrous Winery in Oia, Santorini, or gain rare access to two of Meteora's clifftop monasteries, still home to a handful of monks, near Volos.
TWO EXCLUSIVE EVENTS IN FLORENCE AND ISTANBUL
Silversea's Grand Voyages also provide prime cultural access through an array of bespoke events, planned exclusively for guests. During the Grand Voyage Mediterranean 2026, these include:
A Renaissance Journey (Livorno to Florence, Italy): Guests will embark on a two-day overland journey beginning at Pisa's Piazza dei Miracoli, with lunch overlooking Florence from Piazzale Michelangelo, a private after-hours visit to the Uffizi Gallery, and dinner at the St. Regis. Day two continues with a guided walking tour of Florence, an afternoon reserved exclusively for guests at Palazzo Pucci, and a private evening visit to the Accademia Gallery for an uncrowded view of Michelangelo's David.
An Evening at the Şerefiye Cistern (Istanbul, Turkey): Guests will gather inside the Şerefiye Cistern, built in the fifth century under Emperor Theodosius II, its forest of marble columns and vaulted ceilings preserved for more than 1,600 years, for an exclusive evening of music and dining.
ONBOARD DISCOVERY ABOARD SILVER SPIRIT
Ahead of this Grand Voyage, Silversea introduced expanded public spaces, revitalized interiors, and new dining concepts on Silver Spirit, including Silversea's S.A.L.T. (Sea And Land Taste) Program, with S.A.L.T. Kitchen, S.A.L.T. Bar, and S.A.L.T. Lab. S.A.L.T. Kitchen's destination-driven menu pairs regional specialties with a wide selection of local wines, while S.A.L.T. Bar crafts destination-specific cocktails, wines, beer, and spirits from expert mixologists. S.A.L.T. Lab extends the culinary program from the dining room to the test kitchen with hands-on cooking classes rooted in local technique and tradition.
The ship's most distinctive addition is Riviera – a new open-air poolside concept inspired by the golden age of Mediterranean travel. Riviera pairs coastal fare and fresh seafood with Mediterranean wines and handcrafted cocktails – with a design that honors the region the ship will sail through.
