The 2026/2027 cruise season at the Port of Rio de Janeiro began on Thursday (29) with the arrival of the Seabourn Venture. By April 8, 2027, approximately 325,000 passengers and crew are expected.

According to information released by Pier Mauá, the cruise terminal concessionaire, 112 calls by 29 ships are scheduled, a 33% increase in the number of calls compared to the previous season, which recorded 84 calls by 27 vessels and handled approximately 250,000 passengers and crew. The tourism activity is expected to generate an impact of R$ 246 million on the economy of Rio de Janeiro.
Among the novelties are the debuts of the Buenavista, from the Spanish company Corazul Cruceros, and the ships MSC Divina and MSC Virtuosa. The schedule also includes the Europa, from Hapag-Lloyd, expected in January, and the Queen Anne, from the British Cunard, which will arrive in February.

The season will have days of intense movement at the Port of Rio, with a highlight on January 26, when the simultaneous docking of four ships at the terminal is planned. During Carnival, three vessels are expected to dock simultaneously on February 7, 8, and 9.
The flow of visitors is expected to benefit sectors such as hospitality, gastronomy, commerce, and transport, reinforcing the importance of the Port of Rio de Janeiro for tourism and the economy of Rio de Janeiro.

In 2026, the cruise terminal of the Port of Rio de Janeiro won the awards for Best Embarkation Port and Best Call of the Brazilian Season at the Krooze Awards, in addition to the title of Best Cruise Terminal in Latin America, granted by the World Cruise Awards.
