The Government of Panama and international advisors to the Canal reviewed a portfolio of strategic projects that includes the Río Indio reservoir, new port terminals, an interoceanic gas pipeline, and a logistics corridor. These initiatives are part of an investment plan for the next decade.

Among the highlighted projects are the Corozal and Telfers terminals, with a combined estimated investment of USD 2.6 billion, and a 76-kilometer gas pipeline that would allow the transport of up to 2.5 million barrels per day of energy products. The Río Indio reservoir was also analyzed to ensure water availability and strengthen Canal operations.

These investments seek to expand port, energy, and logistics services, in addition to strengthening connectivity between both oceans. Their development aims to consolidate Panama as a strategic hub for maritime transport and international trade.
