The commercial tankers were attacked while crossing the Strait of Hormuz on 20 and 21 September respectively. Two crew members have reportedly been injured in the attacks, and there have been no reports of pollution.

The first incident involved the Liberian-flagged tanker Al Maryah being hit by a drone while sailing outside the Strait of Hormuz on 20 September. The ADNOC L&S-owned and operated vessel reportedly did not suffer any major damage, and its main engine remained operational. The vessel later anchored in Khor Fakkan, with all 19 of its crew safe.
The second incident was reported by the UKMTO on 21 September when an oil tanker was hit by an unknown projectile in the Strait of Hormuz. Maritime security firm Vanguard Tech have identified the vessel as the LR Stephanie, which is operated by Universal Tankers in Greece. Two crewmembers were reportedly injured in the incident.
Earlier Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC) stated three tankers were attacked on 17-18 September while one tanker suffered hull damage and a fire, which was extinguished, with all crew reported safe. One additional suspicious activity involving a tanker was reported off Aden on 17 September.
