The Port of Bristol ( United Kingdom) announced the start of the final phase of the project to remove the coal silos located at Avonmouth Dock.
According to the port facility, "given that the silos are located above operational Network Rail sidings, the Port scheduled the project to coincide with planned improvement works on the Bristol to Severn Beach railway line."
"The upper sections were carefully removed during the railway closure, and the remaining lower sections are scheduled to be dismantled during another planned maintenance program in the summer of 2027," it was stated.
Finally, the port noted that this initiative is an important step towards creating a more "safer, modern, efficient, and adaptable" port facility, the publication concluded.
