The Foreign Minister of Chile, Francisco Pérez, highlighted the importance of promoting the Capricorn Bioceanic Corridor project. The minister's statements were made during the celebration of Brazil's National Day, organized by the Brazilian embassy in Chile.
In his speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed the will to implement the bioceanic corridor as soon as possible, which will connect the Atlantic and Pacific oceans through Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, and Chile.
"That is the challenge ahead of us: to turn the corridor into a true strategic integration platform, capable of bringing our territories closer, connecting our markets, and contributing to the development of South America."
Pérez also stated that "greater connectivity requires conditions that guarantee its proper functioning, and therefore, Chile and Brazil have agreed that security must occupy a priority place in its implementation."
Finally, the Foreign Minister highlighted the good historical relationship between the two countries, stating that "for 190 years, Chile and Brazil have built a relationship based on friendship, trust, and the willingness to work together. Today, it is up to us to project that heritage into the future."
