China commemorates 13 years since the proposal for the joint construction of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. The initiative has extended its cooperation from shipping routes and ports to e-commerce, green shipping, and the protection of marine ecosystems.
Projects such as the Port of Chancay in Peru, the China-Laos railway, and the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train are already operational. Cooperation has evolved from infrastructure connectivity to areas such as trade, industry, green development, and cultural exchanges.
China's 15th Five-Year Plan proposes to continue integrating ports, maritime transport, and trade, in addition to expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence, the digital economy, tourism, and green development. The strategy seeks to deepen connectivity and diversify areas of international cooperation.
