The Port of Vancouver USA and Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) celebrated the arrival of the two millionth unit in the 33-year history of collaboration between the terminal and the manufacturer.
"We are proud of our relationship with Subaru and the long history of this successful alliance. Each of the 2 million Subaru vehicles that have passed through our docks represents a job," declared Port Executive Director, Julianna Marler.
The port and SOA recently extended their collaboration until 2040, further strengthening a relationship that has driven vehicle imports, regional employment, and economic activity in Southwest Washington for over three decades. The agreement includes the expansion of the land leased to Subaru from 40 to 43 acres.
As Subaru continues to expand its vehicle range and meet customer demand nationwide, the Port of Vancouver (USA) remains a key point in the company's national logistics network.
The journey by car carrier ship from Japan to Vancouver, Washington, typically takes two weeks. Each ship transports approximately 1,200 to 2,900 vehicles, including the Outback, Crosstrek Hybrid, Impreza, WRX, BRZ, Solterra, Uncharted, and Trailseeker, Subaru's newest all-electric SUV.
In 2023, over 98,000 Subaru vehicles were delivered to the Port of Vancouver USA, the highest amount recorded in a single year.
