With the participation of representatives from the public, private, and academic sectors, the Arica Port Logistics Community (CLPA) held the "Logistics and Port Digital Transformation Workshop," an event that allowed for the analysis of the challenges and opportunities facing the regional logistics-port industry in terms of digitalization, innovation, and competitiveness.
The activity took place in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tarapacá and featured specialized presentations on bioceanic corridors, smart ports, and technological tools applied to logistics and port management.
The day began with words from Javier Rivera, Concessions and Logistics Manager of Empresa Portuaria Arica, who highlighted that digital transformation is no longer a trend but a reality.
"This workshop precisely seeks to generate spaces for dialogue and collaboration, because we are convinced that great advances are built from joint work, the exchange of knowledge, and a shared vision of development," Rivera pointed out.
The program included the presentation of the results of the Central Bioceanic Node.
The workshop culminated with the talk "Adaptive and Sustainable Port Management: A Digital Twin for Logistics Optimization," presented by Dr. Amir Karbassi Yazdi, an academic from the University of Tarapacá.
The closing remarks were given by the President of the Arica Port Logistics Community, Jorge Cáceres, who highlighted the value of creating spaces for meeting and collaboration among the different actors that are part of the regional logistics chain.
"This workshop allowed us to share experiences, knowledge, and advances that are currently transforming port logistics worldwide. As a Port Logistics Community, we are promoting initiatives aimed at the digitalization and modernization of our processes, strengthening joint work between the public, private, and academic sectors for the benefit of the port and the development of the entire region. Collaboration is fundamental to continue advancing towards more efficient, competitive, and sustainable logistics," he stated.
Likewise, the meeting included networking spaces and the exchange of experiences among companies, institutions, and professionals linked to the logistics-port ecosystem.
