Port specialist José Ignacio De Romaña proposed integrating the Port of Chancay into a national and regional railway network to enhance its logistical capacity. The initiative is linked to the Engineering Roadmap for Governance 2026–2036, which prioritizes strategic infrastructure.
The project seeks to improve the connection between Peru, Brazil, and Asian markets, facilitating the transport of South American production to the Pacific Ocean. Among the proposals, the Bioceanic Train stands out, conceived to expand commercial opportunities and boost productive development.
Railway integration would strengthen the logistical ecosystem of Chancay and the central Peruvian coast, reducing land connectivity limitations. These initiatives aim to consolidate port competitiveness and expand Latin America's commercial integration with international markets.
