Eurogate and ICT Logistics signed a strategic cooperation agreement to design and implement a state-of-the-art Equipment Control System (ECS), based on the SmartECS solution.
This tool will integrate with Eurogate's operational platform and terminal planner, operateMyBox (oMb), and will manage automated units from various suppliers.
SmartECS is a solution framework designed to orchestrate and optimize processes and equipment in container terminals. The technology acts as a central platform that harmonizes communication between different types of equipment and suppliers, including ship-to-shore (STS) cranes, automated stacking cranes (ASC), and automated terminal trucks (ATT).
JP Broekgaarden, Business Development Executive at ICT Logistics, explained that "SmartECS enables innovation between equipment suppliers and terminal operators by providing a robust and vendor-independent bridge between automated equipment and the Terminal Operating System (TOS)".
Michael Blach, Chairman of the Eurogate Group Executive Board, stated that "this cooperation reflects our long-term commitment to open and scalable terminal technology".
