The Port of Guanta received a new Liebherr LHM 420 crane to strengthen its logistical capacity. The vessel docked at the maritime terminal aboard the Industrial Ursula, a heavy-lift vessel with a length of 138 meters and a beam of 21 meters.
The state-of-the-art equipment, with an operational performance of 371 tons, stands out for its responsiveness and high power standards. Among its technical specifications, it features an approximate lifting speed of 120 meters per minute and a boom with a reach length of 48 meters.
These characteristics allow for an average mobilization of up to 38 containers per hour, streamlining maneuvering times at the dock and increasing operational competitiveness within the port facility.
As an integral part of the project to incorporate this unit, the implementation of a state-of-the-art operation simulator is planned. This specialized tool will be aimed at training, continuous instruction, and certification of port operators, ensuring optimal and safe use of the equipment.
According to Bolivariana de Puertos (Bolipuertos), this addition will be of great support within port logistics by directly contributing to the mobilization of containerized cargo and project cargo. Its arrival will facilitate the import of key supplies for local industry, while boosting foreign trade by streamlining the export processes of national products abroad.
