Ford is one of the world's leading automotive manufacturers, serving customers across multiple regions through an extensive network of dealerships and authorised service centres. For decades, Ford has relied on strong logistics partnerships to support both vehicle production and aftersales operations.

Its relationship with Maersk dates to 1999 and spans multiple regions and business units, covering a broad portfolio of logistics services including ocean transportation, inland logistics, warehousing, air freight, supply chain management and aftermarket parts distribution.

I have great confidence in having a team of professionals who will help our operation raise its level of efficiency, which will translate into a major benefit for our customers.

For Ford Chile, maintaining uninterrupted parts availability is critical to supporting dealership operations and meeting customer expectations. Any disruption to warehouse operations could impact inventory accuracy, order fulfilment and the timely delivery of parts across the country.

When Ford decided to transition the operation of its Parts Distribution Center in Chile, it faced an exceptionally tight implementation timeline. The new provider needed to assume responsibility for the facility, stabilise inventory, train operational teams and ensure service continuity without disrupting ongoing operations.

At the same time, the transition had to minimise operational risk while creating a scalable foundation capable of supporting Ford's long-term aftersales growth in Chile.

Building on a partnership spanning more than 25 years, Ford selected Maersk to implement and operate its Parts Distribution Center in Pudahuel, Chile. The solution covered the end-to-end management of a 10,000 sqm warehouse operation, including inbound processing, storage, cycle counting, picking, packing and outbound distribution. Every process was designed to maintain inventory integrity while ensuring parts remained available throughout Ford's dealer and service network.

To address the compressed implementation schedule, Maersk developed a transition model focused on inventory stabilisation, operational continuity and risk mitigation. The handover was completed in approximately 30 business days from contract award, supported by close collaboration with Ford teams in Brazil, Colombia and Chile. Following intensive training and onboarding activities, operations successfully went live on 2 March 2026.

Despite the complexity of the transition and the demanding timeline, the warehouse takeover was completed successfully, allowing Ford Chile to maintain continuity across its parts distribution operations.

With the new facility operational, Ford gained a stable logistics platform capable of supporting inventory management, order fulfilment and aftersales service requirements across its network. The solution ensured service continuity, inventory stability, and reliable parts availability across Ford's dealer and service network.

The takeover of this facility was completed in just 30 days, which is truly incredible. We look forward to seeing how it performs in the coming months.

That record-time start was not the end of the story, but the beginning of a new stage of trust between the two companies. Today, the relationship continues to expand in Chile with the addition of a complementary buffer and overflow warehouse of approximately 3,000 sqm, further strengthening the logistics integration between Ford and Maersk in the country.

Behind these results is more than processes and square meters: two companies that share core values – a focus on people, humility, integrity, innovation and sustainable development – and that see logistics as a lever for human progress. That shared vision continues to build specialised logistics capabilities and opens doors for joint growth across Chile.
