The Port of Copenhagen-Malmö (CMP, Denmark/Sweden) announced the inauguration of a direct rail connection between the port facility of Malmö and Duisburg (Germany). This route strengthens the logistics infrastructure between Scandinavia and continental Europe.
In this regard, CMP reported that "this new service represents an important milestone in the continuous development of CMP's growing intermodal transport services and further strengthens Malmö's position as an attractive logistics and intermodal hub in Northern Europe."
"Initially, the connection will feature two full train departures per week, offering customers a rail freight transport service between Malmö and Duisburg," the publication concluded.
