The public ports of Bahia, managed by the Federal Port Authority – Codeba, recorded a 22.49% growth in cargo handling between January and June 2026, compared to the same period of the previous year. This performance represented the largest volume ever recorded for a first half.
Meanwhile, at the Port of Itajaí, in Santa Catarina, which is under the company's transitional administration, the increase was 40.97%.
The port facility of Aratu-Candeias registered the largest cargo volume in the first half of the year, with 3.70 million tons moved between January and June, representing a growth of 26.09% compared to the same period in 2025. Exports recorded an increase of 95.77%, while imports rose by 12.99%. In June alone, the terminal managed 692,200 tons, an increase of 30.17% compared to June 2025.
The Port of Salvador handled 3.79 million tons in the first half of the year. This represented a rise of 20.94% compared to the same period of the previous year. Imports increased by 31.84%, while exports registered a slight increase of 2.47%. In June, the volume handled reached 703,900 tons, 44.52% more than in June 2025.
At the Ilhéus maritime terminal, located in the southern region of Bahia, cargo movement during the first half of the year totaled 89,900 tons. In June, 11,900 tons were transferred, representing an increase of 0.64% compared to the same month in 2025. A significant milestone was the unprecedented shipment of magnesium oxide in June with the transport of 8,700 tons of the product destined for the Port of New Orleans, in the United States. This operation marked the incorporation of a new cargo into the facility's portfolio.
