Within the framework of commemorating a new institutional anniversary, the Empresa Portuaria Chacabuco (Emporcha) officially launched the call for entries for the "Emporcha, My Port, My Community" School Drawing Contest, an initiative that invites children from the coast to express their vision of the sea, community life, and port activity.
The competition is aimed at elementary school students from educational establishments located in the towns of Puerto Aysén, Puerto Aguirre, Puerto Cisnes, and Melinka, who can compete in two categories: Category A (1st to 4th grade) and Category B (5th to 8th grade).
In this regard, Emporcha's General Manager, Felipe Candia Araya, highlighted that "this activity seeks to foster creativity, artistic expression, and recognition of the importance that the port, the sea, and the coast have for the development of our communities, contributing to strengthening the ties between our children, their territory, and the port activities of the Aysén Region."
The artworks - which must be submitted on letter or legal size paper using a free manual technique (excluding digital tools and artificial intelligence) - will address themes focused on the port and its local importance, life by the sea, the community environment, maritime activities, and the protection of the coastal edge.
For the selection of the winners, the Empresa Portuaria Chacabuco formed a cross-cutting evaluation jury representative of the community, the port, and the cultural sphere: Verónica Moya, Vice President of Emporcha's Board of Directors; Patricio Melián, Representative of Emporcha's workers; Luis Martínez, Mayor of the Illustrious Municipality of Aysén; and Ximena Castillo, local artist and representative of the cultural field.
The evaluation panel will score the works based on criteria of creativity and imagination (30%), thematic relevance (30%), originality (20%), and presentation (20%).
