Once again, Hav Eiendom distributed USD 16 million in dividends to its owner, Oslo Havn KF (Port of Oslo). The money is directly allocated to modernizing the port and ensuring that the capital can continue to develop as one of the most environmentally friendly cities in the world.
"Hav Eiendom generates significant value through the development of Fjordbyen. This value benefits Oslo, among other things, by contributing to a modern and environmentally friendly port. At the same time, it lays the foundation for the municipality to receive dividends through the Port of Oslo, funds that can be allocated to important priorities for the city," stated Anne Haabeth Rygg, Chair of the Port of Oslo.
Since its founding in 2003, Hav Eiendom has distributed USD 277 million in dividends to its owner, funds that are reinvested in a more efficient and environmentally friendly port, benefiting Oslo and its inhabitants.
"Hav Eiendom's revenues are fundamental to financing a modern port. A coastal city needs an efficient and environmentally friendly port for Oslo to achieve its climate goals. Maritime transport reduces the number of heavy vehicles on the roads. At the same time, the Port of Oslo facilitates the transition of shipping companies towards sustainable solutions. We are building shore power connections for all vessel segments and providing charging points for both ships and heavy vehicles," said Ingvar M. Mathisen, Director of the Port of Oslo.
The dividend comes in a historic year for Hav Eiendom. In January 2026, the Oslo City Council decided to sell the municipal land in Filipstad to Hav Eiendom, the last large undeveloped area in the city. With a development potential of approximately 271,500 square meters, the area is expected to offer space for between 2,000 and 2,500 new homes, commercial buildings, meeting spaces, a waterfront promenade, and green areas.
An analysis by Capgemini estimates the value creation, excluding construction costs, at USD 1.725 billion. "This is about continuing the long-term work of developing Fjordbyen. We will create good urban areas and, at the same time, generate value for all of Oslo," explained CEO Kjell Kalland.
Hav Eiendom is a real estate company owned by Oslo Havn KF, which in turn belongs to the Oslo City Council. Founded in 2003 to generate value for the port and society through the development of the coastal city, it will carry out real estate projects in the fjord city in the coming years, including Fiskebrygga, Sadelmakerbryggen, Grønlikaia, and Filipstad.
