The Ministry of Ports and Airports (MPor) is preparing a project portfolio for a new infrastructure investment cycle starting in 2027. The plan was presented by Minister Tomé Franca this Wednesday (23), during the Brazil Export National Council of Transport Infrastructure Meeting, at Casa Brasil Export, in Brasília.
"We are preparing this investment plan for a new cycle, which will begin in 2027, regardless of who will be leading the Ministry. Our team's commitment is to offer society and the market a set of projects that will ensure the continuity of this investment cycle," he stated.
In the aviation sector, Tomé Franca mentioned the process involving Brasília International Airport and ten regional airports under the AmpliAR Program. According to the minister, the model allows associating airports with less market attractiveness with large concessions, creating conditions for investments in regional infrastructure.
In the port sector, the minister spoke about monitoring the demand, capacity, and bottlenecks of Brazilian ports. This work should guide studies and projects aimed at the sector's infrastructure needs. "From this monitoring, we can develop studies and projects that respond to these needs," he affirmed.
Tomé Franca also cited the new sustainability guidelines and the research, development, and innovation policy for the port sector. Another topic addressed was the work related to insurance in concessions, which seeks to adapt the insurance structure to the risk matrix of contracts and provide more predictability for infrastructure projects.
Speaking about the relationship with the sector, the minister emphasized the importance of dialogue for the formulation of public policies. "We bring what we are building in the Ministry, but we also take the demands of the sector so that we can be more assertive in regulation and public policies," he stated.
Questioned by the president of Brazil Export, Fabrício Julião, about STS10, in the Port of Santos, Tomé Franca highlighted the importance of the project to expand the capacity of the port complex and affirmed that the Ministry is prepared to proceed with the process once the necessary steps are concluded.
The meeting was also attended by the National Secretary of Ports, Alex Ávila, and the National Secretary of Waterways and Navigation, Otto Burlier, as well as representatives from linked bodies and the infrastructure sector.
