The Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) has launched a call for providers, consultants, and specialized engineering firms interested in participating in the Request for Information (RFI) for Consulting Services for Field Study, Design, and Technical Documentation of six ports in the country.
This initiative seeks to gather updated market information to enable the AMP to strengthen the planning and technical evaluation of future maritime-port infrastructure projects in Coquira, in Panama; Mensabé and Arenal, in Los Santos; Hicaco, in Veraguas; and Pedregal and Remedios, in Chiriquí.

The process will identify the technical, commercial, economic, and contractual conditions prevailing in the market, as input for efficiently structuring future projects.
The information collected constitutes a planning and market analysis tool and does not represent the initiation of a contractor selection procedure.
This legal mechanism contributes to strengthening the principles of transparency, free competition, and maximum participation of bidders, while allowing the AMP to have objective information for decision-making.
Likewise, the initiative seeks to optimize the use of state resources through future contracting based on real market conditions and the technical, operational, and financial needs of the maritime-port sector.
The public consultation will remain open for twenty (20) calendar days, counted from its publication, which was made on September 4, 2026.
Participation of companies and professionals in these RFIs will not grant any competitive advantage, preference, or right in any eventual contractor selection procedure. Similarly, it will not generate contractual obligations, direct award commitments, or preferential negotiations by the AMP. The AMP will also not assume costs or expenses incurred by interested parties for the preparation, translation, research, or submission of the requested information.
All information provided will be used exclusively for planning, evaluation, and technical structuring purposes, including the preparation of future terms of reference.
Through the responses of participants, the AMP seeks to obtain specialized information in fundamental areas for project formulation, including field studies and permitting: technical feasibility for carrying out topographic, bathymetric, geological, and oceanographic investigations, as well as the requirements associated with processing Environmental Impact Studies (EIS).
