The Port of Chancay, Peru, projects to handle over 422,000 TEUs by the end of 2026, representing an 82.5% growth compared to the previous year. Between January and July, the terminal recorded 246,452 TEUs, exceeding the volume handled throughout 2025.

Despite Chancay's growth, the Port of Callao maintains its leadership in the country's container movement, followed by other terminals such as Paita. This evolution reflects increased participation of ports in the Peruvian port system and a progressive redistribution of cargo flows.

To sustain this growth, plans include strengthening road infrastructure, developing dry ports, and promoting railway connections and maritime cabotage. These improvements would optimize connectivity between terminals and production centers, strengthening Peruvian logistics competitiveness and foreign trade.
