Santander, October 20, 2026. The Port Authority of Santander (APS) has issued a public tender for the drafting of the construction project and technical assistance for the work supervision for the renovation of Raos 5 dock. The works have a tender budget of 803,125 euros (VAT included) and an execution period of fifteen months. The deadline for submitting offers is November 17.
The tasks include the drafting of the construction project, which must be carried out in the first three months of the fifteen foreseen in the contract, while the remaining twelve correspond to technical support for the work supervision during execution. The integration of both works is justified, as explained by the president of the APS, César Díaz, by “the technical continuity between design and the subsequent control of a highly specialized geotechnical and structural action.”
During the drafting of the project, the contractor must take charge of the preliminary work of checking available information and cartography, topographic and bathymetric surveys, or the geotechnical campaign, as well as the definition and calculation of the solution, dredging and environmental documentation, BIM -Building Information Modeling- methodology, or the presentation of a report that includes plans, budgets, a safety and health study, and waste management, among other things.
The phase of assistance to the work supervision includes the preliminary work before the start of the work, the on-site control, monitoring and surveillance of the works, the safety and health coordination plan, as well as BIM technical assistance.
The president of the APS explained that the renovation of Raos 5 dock, which also includes increasing the draft from 10 to 13 meters, will mean “greater berthing capacity” and “a change in the exploitation of the infrastructure, making it more versatile.”
“We continue to reorder spaces to improve the provision of port services at our public docks,” he assured. This action, specifically, “complements the construction of the new Raos 6 dock, due to the success of the container terminal and the significant increase in activity at the North Breakwater,” he concluded.
