Secretariat of the Navy Extends Manzanillo Port Concession for 50 Years

The Secretariat of the Navy, through the Undersecretary of Maritime and Port Affairs, Admiral Gerardo de Jesús Toledo Guzmán, handed over to the Director General of the National Port System Administration Manzanillo, José Ignacio Moreno Díaz, the new Concession Title for the administration of the port facility, which establishes a validity of 50 years, to begin in 2044, once the current title concludes.

This instrument aims to guarantee the continuity of the port's administration and operation, as well as to provide legal certainty for the planning and execution of long-term projects that strengthen its capacity, competitiveness, and sustainable development.

Likewise, it will create favorable conditions to promote new investments and continue with the expansion, modernization, and improvement of port infrastructure and services, benefiting foreign trade and the country's logistics chains.

With these actions, the Secretariat of the Navy and ASIPONA Manzanillo reaffirm their commitment to consolidate a modern, efficient, and competitive port system, as well as to keep the Port of Manzanillo at the national forefront and strengthen its position among the main ports in Latin America.
