The Chinese shipyard Jiangsu Jiuiling delivered the 1,510 TEU vessel Hang Feng to the Hong Kong-based shipowner Hong Kong Hanghu International Shipping.
"The new vessel, which lacks deck cranes, has fairly basic specifications, features a small engine, and a cruising speed of only 11 knots," Alphaliner announced.
The new Hang Feng has a length of 156.30 meters, a beam of 27.30 meters (11 rows), and a deadweight of approximately 26,000 tons. The vessel is powered by a J-ENG 6UEC 33LSH-C2 main engine, providing a propulsion power of 4,650 kW, and supplies electricity for a maximum of 60 reefers.
Alphaliner stated that the Hang Feng was chartered by Muscat (Oman)-based Asyad Line, for which it is expected to operate regionally in the Middle East.
Currently, the new vessel is sailing from Qingdao to Aqaba on a special one-way trip, presumably with cargo from China destined for Jordan. Subsequently, it is expected to join Asyad's regional network in October.
