Kongsberg Maritime has secured a contract with a major energy operator to supply advanced deck machinery for a new Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel intended for an offshore development project in Asia.
The contract covers a comprehensive mooring and deck machinery solution, including chain recovery winches, chain stoppers, rope guides, riser pull-in winches, and associated control and automation systems. Delivery of the equipment is scheduled for mid-2027.
"We are pleased to continue our collaboration with this client on another Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) development project. This project demonstrates our ability to deliver robust deck machinery solutions for complex marine applications, combining strong engineering competence with reliable automation and control systems," stated Marte Tyldum, Senior Vice President of Kongsberg Maritime Handling.
This contract represents a new award from the client, following Kongsberg Maritime's previous agreement for the development of another Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) platform.
Under the contract, IP Huse will be responsible for the mechanical design of the deck machinery, while Kongsberg Maritime will supply the automation and control systems, as well as overall project management. The mechanical components will be manufactured in Norway, at IP Huse's facilities in Harøy, ensuring close integration between engineering, production, and delivery.
