Chinese shipyard Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard (ZCIS) delivered the 10,300 TEU containership, MSC Leticia X, to Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC).
The vessel operates with dual LNG fuel and is the fifth unit in a series of ten sister orders that the shipbuilder is scheduled to deliver to the shipping company this year and in 2027, Alphaliner reported.
The shipping company ordered these vessels in August 2023 for a reported price of around 130 million dollars per unit.
The ten sister vessels correspond to the Cimc Oric 10300 LNG designs, a model that has a length of 299.95 meters and a beam of 45.60 meters, which is equivalent to 18 rows. The ships have a deadweight of around 125,000 tons and come equipped with 1,900 connections for refrigerated containers.
MSC Leticia X will be deployed on the shipping company's independent Carioca circuit, which connects the Far East with the East Coast of South America. It will be the third vessel of this high-refrigerated capacity series on this service, which currently operates with a mixed fleet of ships ranging from 7,900 to 12,200 TEU.
