Everllence PrimeServ, the after-sales division of Everllence, signed a contract with Navigator Gas, the liquefied gas shipping company, for the conversion of two of its vessels to ethane propulsion. Both conversions are based on the eight years of experience of the Navigator Aurora, which underwent an identical conversion in 2018 by Everllence.
According to the terms of the project, the sister liquefied gas carriers Navigator Nova and Navigator Prominence, currently equipped with Everllence B&W 6S50ME-GI Mk8.2 engines, will be modernized with ME-GIE (ethane gas injection) units in accordance with IMO Tier II regulations. Cosco Shipping Heavy Industries (CSHI) will carry out the work at its Nantong shipyard in China.
The first conversion is scheduled to begin in March 2027 at CHI Nantong, with Everllence PrimeServ in charge of executing the scope of the engine modernization.
