MSC and Ocean Network Express (ONE) will reorganize their maritime cooperation between Asia and the East Coast of South America following Hapag-Lloyd's departure from the Ipanema service vessel sharing agreement, whose current configuration will end.
From April 2027, MSC and ONE will continue to operate the route with weekly sailings and direct connections between major Asian export hubs and South American ports. The first voyage under the new agreement will depart from Shanghai on April 3, 2027, maintaining commercial connectivity between both regions.
The rotation will include ports in Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina, as well as major Asian logistics centers. To this end, MSC will incorporate vessels to replace the units that Hapag-Lloyd will withdraw, with the aim of maintaining service continuity and container transport capacity. The operation will maintain calls at Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Hong Kong, Singapore, Santos, Paranaguá, Navegantes, Montevideo, Buenos Aires, and Rio Grande.
