The oil products tanker SMF Ixora collided with Malaysia's Sungai Johor Bridge on 2 September 2026. The bridge suffered only minimal damage and remains open to traffic.

The incident occurred shortly after the vessel was launched from Benzmark Marine Shipyard. A tugboat had been assigned to escort and control the tanker, but strong currents and winds pushed the vessel towards the bridge. The escorting tug reportedly lacked sufficient power to redirect or stop it.
The tanker struck the bridge structure at around 2:30 pm local time. Two additional tugs arrived on scene, and the vessel was removed by approximately 3:16 pm before being safely anchored. Following an inspection, the bridge was declared safe for use.
SMF Ixora is a Malaysian-flagged oil tanker built in 2007. She measures 99.91 metres in length, 16.3 metres in beam, and has a gross tonnage of 3,991.
