Wontanara: SimFer Christens its First Iron Ore Transshipment Vessel

SimFer, a joint venture between the Government of Guinea, Rio Tinto, and the CIOH consortium led by Chinalco, celebrated the christening of its first iron ore transshipment vessel (TSV), the Wontanara, in a ceremony in China. The vessel will sail to Guinea to become the first of five specialized TSVs that will operate at Morebaya Port, transporting over 40,000 tons of iron ore with a self-unloading capacity of more than 12,000 tons per hour.
