With the aim of safeguarding the integrity of personnel and maintaining safe conditions in port facilities, the National Port System Administration Manzanillo (ASIPONA) reinforced prevention and supervision actions due to Hurricane Simon passing off the coast of Colima.
As part of these efforts, Engineering Management personnel carried out supervision tours of the works being developed in the fishermen's market and in different areas of the port enclosure. Likewise, preventive dredging work was carried out in the Las Brisas area, bordering the port enclosure, as well as in the Halcones channel, among other actions aimed at maintaining adequate infrastructure conditions and favoring water flow during rains.
For his part, the General Director of ASIPONA Manzanillo led a tour of the port facilities to verify their general conditions and supervise operational areas. During the visit, he also recognized the work of the personnel who remained on duty to monitor meteorological conditions and contribute to the continuity of operations during the contingency.
These actions are part of ASIPONA Manzanillo's commitment to risk prevention, the protection of its personnel, and the care of port infrastructure, through permanent supervision and the implementation of preventive measures against meteorological phenomena.
In this way, the entity strengthens its preparation and response capacity to adverse weather conditions, contributing to maintaining a safe port prepared to handle possible contingencies.
