The Minister of Transport and Communications, José Anghello Tangherlini Casal, received the Swiss Ambassador to Peru, Eric Mayoraz, who was accompanied by a business delegation linked to the railway infrastructure, engineering, technology, logistics, ports, and mining sectors.
During the meeting, information was shared on the country's priorities and main infrastructure projects, as well as investment prospects and opportunities for cooperation with specialized Swiss companies.
Referring to Line 3 of the Lima and Callao Metro, the head of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) stated that the sector is working to progressively advance the project's development and highlighted the importance of having the experience and participation of companies specialized in railway systems and metro lines.
The Swiss Ambassador also reported that the Artificial Intelligence Summit will be held in Geneva on June 21 and 22, 2027, an international meeting that will address the challenges and opportunities posed by this technology for digital transformation and society. In this context, he extended an invitation for representatives from the Transport and Communications sector to participate.
The meeting allowed for the exchange of experiences and the exploration of possible areas of cooperation in infrastructure, transport, technology, and innovation, in accordance with the sector's priorities and competencies.
The Vice Minister of Communications, representatives of the Vice Ministry of Transport, and the Urban Transportation Authority for Lima and Callao (ATU) also participated in the meeting.
