National port infrastructure continues to consolidate as the backbone of Peruvian foreign trade. Between January and July 2026, 71.2% of the country's total export value was moved by sea through the different ports of the Republic, according to the latest report from the Association of Exporters (ADEX).
The technical report highlighted a favorable performance of international operations, registering a year-on-year increase of 33.3% in Peruvian exports during the first seven months of the year compared to the same period in 2025.
Strategic Role of Ports
According to the National Port Authority (APN), an agency attached to the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), these figures demonstrate the fundamental role of the National Port System in economic dynamism, attracting private investment, and the country's logistical competitiveness.
The sectoral emphasis was that the growth in exported volume demands efficient ports prepared for the demands of the global market, which is why the MTC and APN reaffirmed their commitment to continue promoting the modernization and connectivity of the national port network.
