The Port of Paracas initiated the 2026-2027 grape export season with the inaugural call of the MSC Müge, a newly built container ship that is part of the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) fleet.
From the port facility, they commented that "we loaded our first containers of the 2026-2027 grape season. At the Port of Paracas, we started a new campaign together with Siembra Alta and Sociedad Agricola 3P, reaffirming our commitment to the development of Peruvian agro-exports."
"This operation was carried out aboard the vessel MSC Müge, corresponding to the Northwest Continent (NWC) service, mobilizing more than 200 containers of various fruits and replenishing 250 empty containers to contribute to the supply and preparation of the campaign," detailed the maritime terminal.
"We know it will be a demanding season and we are already ready to take on this challenge! We strengthen our operational capacity and consolidate ourselves as strategic partners of agro-exporters, providing efficient and reliable logistical solutions. We continue working with our clients and shipping lines to connect Peruvian production with international markets," they indicated.
Meanwhile, the MSC Müge is currently sailing along the South American west coast for the first time. The vessel has 18 rows for containers, a deadweight of up to 131,000 tons, a length of 335 meters, and a beam of 46 meters. Its maximum speed reaches 20 knots, powered by a MAN B&W 6G90ME-C10.5-GI-EcoEGR engine, with an approximate power of 25,000 kW.
