Ports of Acajutla and La Unión Register Growth in Cargo Movement
El Salvador's ports of Acajutla and La Unión recorded growth in operations between January 1 and July 26, 2026. Acajutla, the country's main port, saw a 25.45% increase in metric tons moved and served 218 vessels (37 more than in 2025). La Unión experienced a 60% increase in vehicle mobilization and served 62 vessels, including those specialized in vehicle transport, general cargo, bulk carriers, cruise ships, and tuna vessels.
