Viking Astrea hydrogen-powered cruise ship floated out at Italian shipyard
Viking's second hydrogen-powered ship, Viking Astrea, was floated out at Fincantieri's Ancona Shipyard in Italy. Scheduled for delivery in May 2027, the vessel will accommodate up to 998 guests in 499 staterooms and feature a propulsion system based on liquefied hydrogen and fuel cells, enabling zero-emission operations. The ship's propulsion system, developed with technology from Isotta Fraschini Motori, will produce up to six megawatts of power.
