Princess Cruises to Double New Zealand Port Calls by 2028/29
Princess Cruises confirmed it will double its New Zealand port calls in 2028/29, expected to inject more than NZ$100 million into the local economy. The announcement came at the New Zealand Cruise Association's August conference, where cruise lines including Ponant, Carnival and Royal Caribbean discussed deployment strategies. New Zealand's cruise industry has faced challenges with visitor numbers down 40 percent, but infrastructure upgrades including the NZ$200 million Te Waharoa terminal opening in 2027 are expected to bring 100,000 additional passengers annually.
