Miami once again moved ahead of Port Canaveral to become the world's busiest cruise port.
Reaching 10m passenger movements in fiscal 2026, Miami passed its previous high of 8,564,225 moves in fiscal 2025.
The 10m was achieved Sept. 14, two weeks before the port's year ends Sept. 30.
In fiscal 2025, Port Canaveral edged past Miami with 8,602,047 passenger movements to become the world's busiest cruise port, a feat it had first accomplished in 2022.
Heading into fiscal 2026, Canaveral was projecting growth to 9m multi-day cruise passenger moves. The port's fiscal year also ends Sept. 30 so its tally is expected later.
"Breaking the 10 million passenger threshold is a testament to PortMiami's unwavering dedication to service, sustainability and economic vitality," Miami Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said. "This extraordinary milestone underscores our port's role as a global gateway and a driver of job creation, tourism and local business growth."
Port Director and CEO Jonathan Daniels added: "I'm immensely proud of our team and cruise and port partners, whose collaborative efforts made this achievement possible. Reaching 10 million passengers reflects our focus on innovation, efficiency and superior passenger experience, as we continue to modernize PortMiami's infrastructure and expand our capacity for future growth."
