Five Senses Consulting & Development expanded its Destination Highlights initiative, with dedicated collections now published on the official destination websites of Mykonos and Agios Nikolaos, two of Greece's leading cruise destinations.
Destination Highlights is a digital destination storytelling tool designed to help ports and destinations communicate their identity, character and visitor experiences through concise, visually engaging content.
Created with cruise passengers in mind, each highlight offers a taste of the destination before arrival. The content introduces what visitors can see, do, taste and experience during their time ashore, while encouraging discovery beyond the most familiar attractions.
The new Mykonos collection was developed in cooperation with the Municipal Port Fund of Mykonos. Six curated digital guides present different dimensions of the island, including its maritime heritage, diverse coastline, connection with Delos, living traditions, Mediterranean flavours and historic windmills.
In Agios Nikolaos, a collection of seven highlights explores Lake Voulismeni, Spinalonga, accessibility, local myths, Cretan olive oil and cultural celebrations connected with the destination's identity.
The content can be adapted and shared across official destination websites, social media, cruise line communications, presentations and international cruise promotion. This provides destinations with a consistent and flexible resource to inspire passengers and support engagement before arrival.
"Cruise passengers often begin forming their impression of a destination before the ship arrives," said Ioannis Bras, founder and CEO of Five Senses Consulting & Development.
"Destination Highlights helps destinations communicate their identity clearly and creatively. It offers passengers useful inspiration while giving each destination the opportunity to present the experiences and stories that make it distinctive. We are proud to see the initiative expanding and becoming part of the way destinations communicate with the international cruise market."
The publication of the Mykonos and Agios Nikolaos collections reflects the growing role of pre-arrival engagement within cruise destination development. By presenting relevant and accessible inspiration before the visit, Bras said destinations can help passengers better understand what awaits ashore and encourage a stronger connection with the places they are preparing to explore.
