CM Technologies Launches Instrument to Detect Leaks in Ship Engines
German company CM Technologies introduced a compact pressure drop test instrument (PDTI) designed to identify leaks in diesel engine cylinders before they lead to increased fuel consumption and costly repairs. According to David Fuhlbrügge, Managing Director of CMT, the system works by introducing pressurized air into the combustion chamber and measuring the loss over a specified period. The PDTI is manufactured using additive manufacturing with 3D printing, allowing for the incorporation of complex internal pathways.
