Ferreira: Interrupting Vasco da Gama Operations Was a 'Responsible Decision'
Mario Ferreira, CEO of Mystic Cruises, defended the decision to temporarily interrupt operations of the Vasco da Gama cruise ship due to technical problems in propulsion and engine systems. The 1994-built vessel had its world cruise cut short in late April, with three sailings cancelled to accommodate an unscheduled drydock. The ship is scheduled to resume operations on June 14, 2026, with an 18-night cruise to Iceland departing from Kiel, Germany.
