Growth in Non-Oil Cargo Volume Contrasts with Decline in Export Freight Revenue
The Ecuadorian export sector shows an operational asymmetry: between January and March 2026, the total volume transported grew by 7%, but the overall revenue from non-oil, non-mining shipments decreased by 5% due to weakening international prices. Port terminals are absorbing a greater flow of tons without a correlated financial growth, pressuring the optimization of customs and port processes.
