Brasília, 04/23/2025 - Seeking to align with the new realities of the waterway sector, the National Waterway Transportation Agency (ANTAQ) amended one resolution throughout 2024 and published seven new normative acts.

Among the topics addressed are the expansion of the Environmental Performance Index (IDA) update, and aid aimed at mitigating the effects of the climate calamity that occurred early last year in Rio Grande do Sul.

Additional cargo storage in port facilities; feeding of the Port Price Monitoring System (APP Module); operational agreements for space exchange in long-haul navigation; and the Port Sector Accounting Manual were also topics covered by the resolutions.

The Superintendence of Regulation is responsible for drafting these normative acts. In addition to this function, the unit manages the Agency's regulatory instruments, such as the Regulatory Agenda and the conception and revision of normative acts.

The area is also responsible for regulating the market by managing regulatory results, harmonizing possible conflicts, monitoring international agreements, and carrying out technical, normative, economic, accounting, patrimonial, and competitive regulation.

Furthermore, the superintendence seeks to foster innovation and sustainability in the waterway sector, in conjunction with the ESG and Innovation superintendence, and has the role of guiding the regulated sector.
