Port of Itajaí Suspends Navigation Due to Strong Current

The Superintendence of the Port of Itajaí (SPI) announced the total impracticability of the bar from 5:50 PM this Wednesday (4), due to the intensity of the current, which reached 2.9 knots (approximately 5.4 km/h). According to the SPI, the measure is preventive and aims to ensure the safety of port operations. The superintendence is monitoring the conditions of the access channel and awaits authorization from the maritime authority to resume navigation.

The Superintendence of the Port of Itajaí (SPI) informs that the total impracticability of the bar was declared from 5:50 PM this Wednesday (4), due to the intensity of the current, which reached 2.9 knots (approximately 5.4 km/h), above the operational safety parameters for navigation.

The measure is preventive and aims to ensure the safety of port operations.

The SPI is monitoring the conditions of the access channel and awaits authorization from the maritime authority for the resumption of navigation.
