The Oceanographic and Antarctic Institute of the Navy (INOCAR) has published the high tide forecast for five Ecuadorian ports: Esmeraldas, Manta, La Libertad, Guayaquil, and Puerto Bolívar, for the period of November 5-8.
Guayaquil is expected to record the highest level during this period, reaching 4.55 meters on November 8. In the other ports, the maximum predicted heights will reach 3.09 meters in Esmeraldas, 2.61 in Manta, 2.27 in La Libertad, and 2.87 in Puerto Bolívar.
INOCAR warns that the coincidence of high tides with heavy rains and swell could increase sea levels and cause flooding in coastal areas and estuaries. This information contributes to the planning of port activities and the prevention of risks in maritime operations.
