Star Clippers is significantly expanding its destination portfolio throughout Greece, Türkiye, Croatia, Southern Italy and the Adriatic by introducing 27 new ports across its 2027-2028 sailing program.
This reflects Star Clippers' philosophy of using its sailing ships to reach destinations often inaccessible to larger cruise vessels. That recently led the line to call at Barletta, Italy, for example.
Throughout the Mediterranean, Star Clippers is seeking hidden islands, historic fishing villages, UNESCO-protected towns and emerging coastal destinations where local culture remains at the forefront of the travel experience.
"Our guests consistently tell us they want to discover places beyond the traditional cruise circuit," said Terri Haas, VP sales & marketing, Americas, Star Clippers.
The expansion is particularly evident throughout Greece, where Star Clippers has broadened its reach to include destinations such as Skiros, Skopelos, Karpathos and Astypalea. These ports offer local traditions, historic sites, family-owned tavernas and landscapes largely untouched by mass tourism.
Türkiye also plays a prominent role in the expanded deployment. New ports including Çeşme, Datça, Fethiye, Kas and Kekova showcase the diversity of the Turkish coastline, combining ancient history, seaside culture and some of the Mediterranean's most spectacular cruising waters.
Along the Adriatic coast, Star Clippers added destinations including Korčula, Komiža, Trogir and Šibenik, while the Southern Italy expansion includes Monopoli and Crotone. Together, these ports provide access to medieval waterfront towns, UNESCO-recognized heritage sites, culinary traditions and authentic maritime communities that remain largely overlooked by big cruise ships.
Several itineraries showcase these new destinations particularly well. Among the standouts is "Eternal Cyclades" aboard Star Flyer, a seven-night voyage to Milos, Santorini, Amorgos and Hydra. The new "Authentic Greek Escape," also aboard Star Flyer, visits Astypalea, Sifnos and other emerging destinations.
Southern Italy takes center stage aboard "Italian Gems," a recently introduced itinerary aboard Star Clipper, to less-frequented destinations including Termini Imerese and Vibo Marina while pairing them with iconic ports such as Lipari, Sorrento and Ponza.
Star Clippers is also offering North American customers up to 65% savings on all sailings and, on select departures booked by Sept. 30, 2026, up to $500 per cabin in onboard credit and a complimentary bottle of champagne.
