The Aguadulce Industrial Port Society mobilized 42 tons of humanitarian aid destined for the communities affected in Buenaventura by the magnitude 7.4 earthquake that occurred on August 10 in Colombia.
The company stated that "we reaffirm our commitment to the families affected by the earthquake. In recent hours, we received 42 tons of humanitarian aid at our terminal, which will soon be transferred to the rural communities of our territory."
"We want to highlight the commitment and empathy of our terminal's volunteer collaborators, who donated their time off to support the unloading and logistics of these supplies," they emphasized.
"This delivery is the result of a coordinated effort through the Aguadulce–Compas Port Foundation and various allies who have joined in with drinking water, food, blankets, mattresses, and hygiene kits. This aid will reach hard-to-access areas such as Citronela, Bajo Calima, and San Cipriano, among others," explained the Aguadulce Industrial Port Society.
"With 1,800 homes affected in the rural area, the emergency continues. We invite the business sector, organizations, and citizens to continue joining forces to rebuild rural Buenaventura," the company expressed.
