Iranian Attack on US-Linked Ship in the Strait of Hormuz

An attack with Iranian drones and missiles struck a US-linked ship near the Strait of Hormuz, leaving injuries on board, according to North American press reports.

Sources cited by Fox News indicated that the aggression involved four unmanned vehicles and at least one self-propelled projectile, which directly impacted the vessel in the vicinity of the maritime passage.

The impact caused minor physical injuries among the crew, including smoke inhalation. The injured are receiving medical treatment in an unidentified Gulf country.

Several US personnel were on board the ship at the time of the incident.

The maritime confrontation is part of the six-month war with Iran, where control of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital transit corridor through which more than a fifth of global oil shipments pass, remains the most contentious point due to repeated mine operations and counterattacks.

The United States Central Command (Centcom), which oversees US military operations in the Middle East, did not immediately respond to Anadolu Agency's requests for comment.

Neither Washington nor Tehran has issued an official statement regarding the incident.
